The muscular design is the desire to modernise and bring the Biturbo-Shamal’s lines into the 21st century tailored to the new mechanicals. Widened track widths to accommodate larger wheels and upgraded braking system to cope with the V6 Biturbo engine that generates in excess of 450 horsepower.

The Statistics

Engine

The Maserati Biturbo-Shamal Project MA-01 by Modena Automobili mounts the engine of Maserati Ghibli S a V6 3.0 liter Twin Turbo with over 450 HP. The engine accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 Mph in 4.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 280 km/h(174MPH)

The Maserati Ghibli S engine has been jointly engineered by FERRARI and MASERATI.

Gearbox

Project MA-01 not only mounts the Maserati Ghibli S engine but also its ZF 8 speed sequential automatic transmission that has a special calibration that allows gear shifts in only 150 milliseconds. The ZF gearbox provides also great comfort making driving smooth and fuel consumption and CO2 emissions optimization.

Chassis – Frame

The original Maserati Biturbo chassis, after being professionally scanned, is now in the process of being completely stripped, coated and strengthened to safely house the new Maserati Ghibli S Powertrain.
