Delage
Founded in 1905, Delage used motorsport to help it become a high-end brand, winning Le Mans, the Indianapolis 500 and the Grand Prix world championship by 1927.
Acquired by Delahaye in 1935, the company produced its last car in 1953. It has now been revived by a team including 1997 F1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve and the founder’s grandson.
The first new-generation Delage is the D12, a futuristic-looking car conceived to provide the closest possible experience to a Formula 1 car, with which it shares a carbon-fibre monocoque. It has a 7.6-litre engine of Delage’s own dedicated design supplemented by electric motors, developing a total of 1100 bhp. Two versions are available, one predominantly for road driving on the road and the other configured for track use.
