Christofer Ratcliffe, AKA ‘Langen’ – Founder
THEIR STORY
Founded in 2018 as an automotive engineering and development company, founder Christofer Ratcliffe began to pen the first ideas of an ultra-lightweight motorcycle unlike anything else on the road. In 2019 a special relationship with Vincenzo Mattia‘s – Vins Motors in Maranello begun. With both company’s desire to push the boundaries of innovation and technical excellence along with a shared a passion to produce lightweight pure motorcycles, a partnership was made and Langen Motorcycles was born. During the first 3 years the team has continued to grow with the wealth of experience and know how coming from across the automotive industry from the likes of CCM, Triumph, BAC, McLaren and M-sport. Each member of the Langen team brings a unique professionalism and expertise along with a shared passion to question the norm and push the boundaries of what is possible. Based in Manchester, we have adopted the local mantra:

THEIR PROCESS
We strive to engineer optimisation in every component through creative thinking along with continuous improvement of existing designs and manufacturing techniques. The design, development and testing process is carried out in house by an experienced team of passionate automotive designers, engineers, builders and, most importantly, riders. Our low volume manufacturing experience enables each motorcycle to be customised to the owners requirements. Working with our carefully selected UK manufacturing base helps us to meticulously control quality on every component. Each part is constructed to exacting standards using modern methods such as5-axis CNC machining and Additive Manufacturing along with traditional skills such as carbon fibre lays and welded chassis structures. During the design and build of the motorcycle each new owner has an input over the final design, ergonomics, geometry to truly create a unique machine and a lasting relationship with the team that designed and built their bike.
