A LEGEND IS BORN
The first and only Jensen to benefit from Italian styling began a stellar career in 1966. Catering for the elite of the time with a capacious GT cabin, American muscle under the bonnet and the best of British craftsmanship in which to luxuriate. A classic icon is unleashed upon the world.
THE CONCEPT DEVELOPS
New ownership of the Jensen company brought successive updates to the car but thankfully the glorious exterior shape was left largely unaltered.
The Jensen Interceptor continues to command an eye watering price, ensuring exclusivity, but equally eye watering thirst and a reputation for trouble combine with it becoming technically outclassed.
The end comes in 1976 and one of the handbuilt British greats seems set to be lost forever.
PREPARING FOR REPLACEMENT
But no, the legend refuses to die!
Such is the irresistible appeal of the Interceptor, a new company is formed from the ashes with bold plans to re-start production… a handful of new cars are produced but the Interceptor, beautiful though it is, is obviously an anachronism and the venture founders.
A LEGEND RE-BORN
The Interceptor evolves from anachronism to classic icon and with a strong club following the remaining cars become ever more sought after. A quarter century has passed since the last cars were produced, however, and restoration costs are often fearsome, with the resultant cars still often troublesome to own as they were in period.
Intelligently re-engineered by JIA, the Interceptor evolves into the spectacular classic super car that it is today. Bespoke built to your preferred specification, Interceptor R is not to be confused with the original and is a truly usable car with immense reserves of driving pleasure.
The future for the Interceptor is secured for generations to come.
