A FORMULA 1 CAR FOR THE ROAD…

The Friends of Delage, an association of Delage collectors and owner of the Delage brand, and entrepreneur Laurent Tapie, are pleased to announce the re-launch of Delage Automobiles. This rebirth, or renaissance, restores the legacy of crafting exceptional cars in France.

In the pioneering spirit of Louis Delage, who in 1905 acted on his vision of creating refined yet technologically advanced automobiles, this car marries innovation with the elegance of tradition and the thrill of Formula One (F1) racing. “Delage cars deserve to be on the road and enjoyed for the unique craftsmanship they represent,” said Laurent Tapie, re-founder and CEO of Delage Automobiles. β€œThe Delage brand embodies timeless elegance and a trusted high performance. It truly is the best of French engineering, and in this spirit, we are proud to unveil the D12.”

Three years in the making, the D12 represents the advancements in car manufacturing over the 66 years since the production of the last Delage model, the sublime and rare D8, which still sells for over a million euros to collectors around the world. “The D12 showcases the Delage heritage, which encompasses the golden age of automobiles, and brings it into the future,” said Patrick Delage, Heir of Louis Delage and President of Honor of Delage Automobiles.

This new vehicle contains the latest in hybrid technology and is equipped with both an atmospheric V12 with 990 horsepower (738 kW) and an electric motor with 110 horsepower (82 kW)β€” creating a total of 1,100 horsepower (820 kW) altogether.

With the D12, Delage Automobiles are fulfilling the wish of Monsieur Delage, gone before he could realize the dream of putting his highly lauded V12 into a road car. While the D12 is a road car, it is one-of-a-kind to its core. In its design and performance, the D12 is the closest a road car will ever come to an F1 car. This in itself makes it a worthy heir to the legendary Delage 15 S 8, the World Grand Prix Champion of 1927.

To bring the F1 experience to every driver, F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will supervise the D12 settings. This ensures the driving experience, a Delage signature, is the closest possible to the adventure of driving an F1 car. Benoit Bagur, a two-time World Champion in the F1A Touring Car, will serve as the Technical Director.

Delage are limiting product of this car to just thirty examples with the first customer collection in Q1, 2024.
