Origins

It all started back when industrialist and collector Michael Stoscheck contacted then Pininfarina’s Special Projects Manager Paolo Garella with a specific request: building a one-off reinterpretation of the legendary Lancia Stratos from the 1970s. A few years later, M.A.T. turned this project into 25 units limited series.

The Approach

With the New Stratos, M.A.T. brings back the thrilling sensation of an analog way of driving. True to its original predecessor, it boasts a powerful V8 engine while at the same time it is extremely lightweight and features a short wheelbase. This guarantees unparalleled agility and manoeuvrability. Its manual gearbox and flat-plane crankshaft pay homage to a classic racing model from the 1970s, while the carbon fibre bodywork reminds users of the modern technology and design that went into its creation.

The Process

Development of the New Stratos involved the entirety of M.A.T. Keeping a strict control over all aspects of the project was necessary: from engineering and production to testing, sales and aftersales. Everything is entirely managed by our company to make sure no detail is neglected.

Customisation

From the first moment an order is made, we work with the customer along every stage of the process to guarantee that nothing is left to chance. From the choice of the vehicle’s colors and the selection of the materials for the interiors to the customization of each seat. Everything is tailor-made to suit the customer’s personal needs, guaranteeing the highest manufacturing quality.
